Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) in 2020 (LG-248567-OLS-20), the purpose of this project was to develop and pilot a turnkey ebook and audiobook service for state and public libraries based on The Palace Project. The service was piloted with ten libraries, including state, public, college, and school libraries. A number of valuable features were developed and tested over the course of the project, including a virtual library card application, a new and improved analytics platform, an an automated Quality Assurance pipeline. In addition to the new features, the project resulted in a new pricing structure for the Palace service that can be offered at a much lower cost for smaller libraries.
